Welcome to the official Leeds Chess Club Website, we are a friendly chess club based near the centre of Leeds. We are currently looking for new members, if you are interested in joining us then everything you need to know can be found within these pages. Leeds chess club are the 3rd largest club in Leeds and we are the fastest growing club in the league. We now have teams in both the Leeds League and Bradford League (No other clubs in Leeds or Bradford do!) so we are now recruiting from the Bradford area as well! In the Leeds League we have an A-Team, a B-Team, a C-Team, a 3-man rapidplay team, a 3-man mini league team and a 3-man Arjay team. In the Bradford League we have a fairly strong 5-man team called Leeds 175 Insurgents. There's always room for anyone wanting a game, if you are interested, please get in touch! I must stress that we are still looking for new members, If you are reading this and you don't currently belong to a chess club but you would like to, please send me an email.

We are a young and extremely keen club, probably the keenest chess club in Yorkshire! Eager to learn more, eager to be a success and most of all... we want to be the best!

We can offer beginner to intermediate and some advanced players coaching, I also have a huge library of chess books that will offer something to anyone from beginner to grandmaster. If you like, we can play through some books on Wednesdays or... once you've been a member here for a while, I can even lend you some books to work on at home. To people who aren't interested in studying chess, that's not a problem! You are still very welcome to come down and play some chess.
