The 1st Leeds Chess Club Championship has kicked off. The competition is a 7 round swiss taking place over 3 months with 2 weeks between each round.

This tournament will be graded, Jon Griffith said that he would do the Yca grading for me for free. As for the Ecf grading, if you're a member, that's also free. If you're a non member then there will be an additional charge of 50p per game to cover grading costs. The entry fee is £5.00 (which I am now collecting) and will go into the prize fund. As there's 12 entrants, this makes a total prize fund of £60.00 which will be split as follows - 1st place = £30.00, 2nd place = £20.00 and a grading prize for the highest scoring under 75 of £10.00.
