LEEDS CHESS ASSOCIATION

I will try to give you as much information as I can regarding the Leeds Chess Association including other Chess Clubs in the area, latest results from the Association and anything else that I feel could be useful to somebody.

First of all, here's something for the newcomers and the curious,

Chess Clubs in the Leeds Chess Association (Clubs with a website are linked in blue, the rest are in green):

Alwoodley Chess Club

Alwoodley currently have 5 teams and a fair sized venue, they also have a bar that opens later on in the evening.

Copperworks Chess Club, LS27 7HX - Email.

I don't think Copperworks have their own website but you can find a single webpage for them here (under the clubs section) with all the information you need. Copperworks have 3 teams and play in the bar of the Gildersome Conservative Club.

Leeds Chess Club

We currently have 3 teams and we're the fastest growing club in Leeds, we have a large room upstairs, completely out of the way of the bar and the locals, the bar is open all hours.

Leeds Junior Chess Association.

This is specifically for the Junior chess players, click on the link to view the website if you're a junior.

Leeds University. Meet at the University Union on Tuesday nights, I'm afraid I have no information on this club. However I at Leeds Chess Club, take on the majority of the University Students.

Pudsey Chess Club, LS28 6PE. I have no contacts for these at the moment but I can tell you that they meet at the Halfway House Pub on Mondays and Wednesdays from about 7pm.

Rose Forgrove

Rose Forgrove currently have 5 teams, they have a fair sized room at the Parochial Hall and the bar is open all hours.

West Leeds, Ian Strickland - 0113 243 8629 - LS28 6PE. West Leeds have a single web page here under the clubs section.

Now a little something for players who aren't new to the league:
